Application financial audit
The report your board signs, or the return a supervisor receives, is produced by software. We audit that software as it actually ran in the period — mappings, extracts, overlays, access, and the lock that is supposed to freeze a pack before it leaves the building.

A licensed insurer in the Klang Valley asked us to audit the application that compiles its Bank Negara returns. The pack looked complete. The mapping table still carried a product code retired in the core ledger two cycles earlier. That single break explained a reconciling item the close team had been plugging by hand.
Names are withheld. The pattern is not unusual: the filing is on time, the application is “working,” and the figure is still wrong in a way a screenshot of the dashboard will never show.
